The Space Needle

The Space Needle stands 605 feet high and has been one of Seattle's most visible landmarks since it was built as the centerpiece for the 1962 World's Fair. An observation deck at the 520 feet level provides panoramic views of the city, Puget Sound, and the Cascade and Olympic mountains. The Compass Northwest exhibit offers information on major points that are visible from the observation deck. Telescopes are provided on the outside deck walkway. Two restaurants at the top of the needle turn a full 360 degrees every 58 minutes!
