Program Fast Facts
- 10-12 Internship placements available for Summer 2012
- Final locations TBD but may include: China, Italy, India, Ukraine, Mexico, Portugal, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Kosovo
- Applications Due by: November 22, 2011
- Internship Selection Announced: January 5, 2012 by email
- Expenses paid including Travel, Accommodations, and stipend for meals In-Country
- Internships are non-credit and unpaid:
*Credit is not offered. However, students may seek credit as an independent study with an academic adviser and pay tuition on their own
*Interns are not paid. As described above, most costs are covered in order to complete the internship without being out-of-pocket money.

Summer 2011 Internship Participant Testimonials
The Lee Iacocca International Internship Program is a unique resume building opportunity to:
- experience working in a corporate, non-profit, or civic service environment in a foreign culture
- live abroad for 6 to 8 weeks during Summer 2012
- expand your international network
What you will do:
- Work descriptions will be posted here by mid to late October
- Experience the culture and history of a foreign country
Where you will stay:
- The International organization hosting the intern will arrange accommodations including homestay or near-by hotels/apartments
Who may qualify / Criteria for selection:
- All completed applications will be considered; first preference will be given to:
- Students who have not previously attended an abroad Lehigh-sanctioned program
- Students who demonstrate a financial need to be able to afford the opportunity to study abroad
- A demonstrated match between the qualifications of the work or service experience position and the major and/or experience of the student
- Students in good academic and behavioral standing with Lehigh University
- Sophomore, Junior and Senior undergraduate students at Lehigh University - first preference will be given to upper classmen
- Application completeness and timeliness
- Strong recommendations and good academic and behavioral standing
- A demonstrated interest in building resume with international detail
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership qualities
- An interest in the global marketplace and working in a diverse environment.
- Foreign language proficiency is favorable but not necessary. Check the criteria for each internship closely to see if a language requirement exists.
Requirements if Selected will be to work with the program Administrator to
- Book round trip flight by mid-February
- Participate in Lehigh Abroad orientation and other appropriate training through Iacocca Institute
- Attend additional mini-training session at Lehigh University in Spring 2012, as required
- Sign a Letter of Agreement and Standard Code of Conduct for Lehigh University by January 30,2012
- Obtain or show proof of a valid Passport that will not expire until 2014
- Register with Lehigh University ISOS Program
- Perform Work Experience Requirements
- Keep a Journal of activity and report to the Lehigh International Internship Administrator once per week
- Complete a program evaluation at the conclusion of the experience
- Participate in a presentation to the Lehigh University community after their return and assist with marketing for the following year
