Please follow these steps prior to going abroad:

1. Sign waiver forms (Appendix B: Study Abroad Guidebook, Cost and Conditions)

2. Understand cancellation policies and policies/rules that apply if you leave the program early

3. Find out address/contact information for embassy/consulate abroad on Consular Information Sheet for your host country U.S. Department of State Consular Information then register your trip on the U.S. Department of State Travel Registration. 4. Arrange power of attorney for a family member, if necessary (see Study Abroad Guidebook)

5. Consider registering expensive items you are taking abroad with U.S. Customs and Border Protection

6. Read Travel Warnings and State Department Consular sheets for information on the legal systems in the countries to which you will be traveling U.S. Department of State Consular Information.
