How do grades and credits work?
- Before you go abroad, complete and the Application for Course Approval (online, and in the Study Abroad application) by obtaining approval from academic departments at Lehigh.
- You must register for the equivalent of at least 12 Lehigh credits per semester while abroad (or full time status as prescribed by the host institution). You may take a maximum of 16 Lehigh credits per semester.
- If you enroll in a course that is not listed on your Application for Course Approval, you must obtain approval for the course via e-mail while abroad.
- Earn a minimum grade of "C" (or the equivalent) in each class abroad in order for the credit to be transferred to your Lehigh transcript.
- For each course you take abroad, the Lehigh equivalent will appear (as listed on your Application for Course Approval). No grades will transfer, and your GPA will not be impacted.
