One on One Tutoring

Reading, Writing, & Communication Skills

Hands on Learning

One on One Tutoring

In this session, tutors assist tutees in completing their homework, studying for tests, planning and executing projects and working ahead in their textbooks. This time should be used to focus on academic work, not searching the web for their favorite music group or drawing on the chalkboard. If, as a tutor, you need ideas for tutoring time, parents and other tutors could possibly have ideas. This program will occur during the Junior S.T.A.R. session and is spread throughout various assigned rooms in the building.

Reading, Writing, & Communication Skills

The objective of these sessions is to focus on written form of communication using examples of literature that demonstrate point of view, different versions on a fairy tale, and different writing styles. Students will then write their own story using components of stories read in sessions. Throughout this process, the tutees are guided and coached individually. The final product is presented at the Junior S.T.A.R. closing ceremonies.
