Goals and Outlook

 

Mission:

Through forward thinking, effective communication, and active representation, the Student Senate will develop an integrated community that is empowered to build a greater Lehigh

Summary to Date:

  • Conducted elections for 13 freshman senators
  • Held annual fall retreat at Camp Canadensis
    • Set organizational goals
    • Chose Campus Life Improvement Projects (C.L.I.P.S)
    • Developed interpersonal relationships among senators
  • Begun managing club budgets and activities and implementing C.L.I.P initiatives

Organizational Goals

  • Build a communal feeling among the group
  • Foster a sense of pride in being a senator
  • Amplify our presence with the student body
  • Maintain a consistent focus on pursuing our goals and fulfilling responsibilities

Standing Committee Goals

  • Allocations: Manage club budgets, allocate funds, and review funding requests
  • Club Affairs: Oversee club activities, advise clubs, review new club requests
  • Public Relations: Build the image of Student Senate and promote our initiatives

C.L.I.P. Goals

  • Academic Affairs: Augment the academic experience of Lehigh Students by maximizing advising, study spaces, and academic programs
  • Community Relations: Create a more unified community between Lehigh University and the city of Bethlehem
  • Campus Unity:  Promote school pride by engaging students and organizing more activities
  • Facilities & Transportation: Assess the infrastructure of Lehigh’s structures and transportation options
