Updating Virus Definition Files

In order to maximize your computer's defense against viruses, it is essential to keep updated virus definition files in your antivirus program. Maintaining these files enables the software to detect new viruses and variants of older ones, guarding against infection of your valuable files.

Anyone who installed Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition or Symantec EndPoint from the Lehigh Security web site and use a persistent internet connection (wireless or broadband) will have these files automatically updated on their computer on a regular basis through the Symantec LiveUpdate settings, so there should be no need to update manually. However, if you are dialing into Lehigh's modem pool, or, if you use an outside ISP on an irregular basis, it is suggested that you take a few minutes each week to update these files.
