Then:
In 1992, Dr. Henry Odi and Mr. Robert Haines '79 founded the Lehigh Valley Science and Engineering Research Fair. Approximately 50 students participated that year in the Wood Dining Room of Iacocca Hall, Mountaintop Campus.
Lead by Mr. Haines, judges began reading the student's research papers and started to judge all the project, while the students attended various academic hands-on/demonstrative session. The students were judged by grade and by the following categories: Behavioral Science Biochemistry Botany Chemistry Computer Earth and Space Engineering Environmental Mathematics Medicine and Health Microbiology Physics Zoology Team (teams must have no more than three team members and all must be in the same grade)
Now:
At the March 2009 fair, students were interviewed by the judges regarding their projects. After the judging results were completed, the fair was opened to the public. Approximately 300 students participated in the fair. First place winners in all grades and categories were invited to participate in the Delaware Valley Fair in April. Several students placed at the regional fair and a few went on the the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Two students received top honors and monetary awards at the Intel Fair.
