"On the Same Page Lehigh" joins the First Year Students (Class of '07) Reading Program in reading together to explore the societal themes presented in Barbara Ehrenreich's book, Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America (Henry Holt, 2001).
Ms. Ehrenreich's book chronicles her experiences working in the "low wage trenches." Her undercover reportage is provocative. David Ulin of the Los Angeles Times wrote: "Brief but intense...Nickel and Dimed is an accessible yet relentless look at the lives of the American underclass."
