Increasing motivation with a “personal touch”!

A preferred activities intervention refers to incorporating student preferences or interests into the classroom lesson. Preferred activities have proven successful because they use student interests to change behavior. You decide how to incorporate the preference into your instructional objectives. Because it is based on student likes, the intervention is useful for students who exhibit undesirable behavior due to lack of investment or interest in the assignment.
Preferred Activities have been successfully used with a wide range of age groups and target behaviors such as:
