Our Mission

To support the mission and values of Lehigh University

Vision Statement

To become regionally, nationally, and internationally known as an effective model in PreK-20 collaboration with internal and external partners in advancing education and research.

The department works on many initiatives and programs designed to accomplish the mission and full fill the vision.

A Brief History

The department of Academic Outreach was formed in the summer of 1990 due in part to the success of the S.T.A.R. Academies, Lehigh Valley Science & Engineering Research Fair, and High School Scholar Program, all co-founded by Dr. Henry Odi.

Since then more programs were intiatied and have since completed, such as LaunchIT and STEM. Consequently, more schools are involved, more relationships have been established with teachers and school administrators resulting in more students benefiting academically.
