From lines of nanoparticles to quantum wires

Use of surfactants to make nanomaze wires

Langmuir trough experiment; DPPC surfactant on water surface with hydrophobic Au nanoparticles
Low pressure; solid (S) and liquid (L) phase DPPC co-exist on water surface. Au nanoparticles segregate to L.
High pressure; L phase is squeezed out leaving only S. The nanoparticles segregate to the S domain boundaries.
