Funds available for nanotechnology commercialization in PA

The Pennsylvania Nanomaterials Commercialization Center is making available $700,000 in funds. It invites Pennsylvania university researchers and companies to submit proposals for funding early-stage commercialization of nanomaterial research. While the center is primarily interested in projects for nanomaterials for renewable energy applications, it also encourages ideas and proposals for other advanced nanomaterial applications. The funds support $30,000 grants for fast-track pre-commercialization and $185,000 for full commercialization projects. Provide a brief, non-confidential technical and commercial overview of the proposed technology. The center will provide feedback on how well the idea fits its mission for funding and proposal criteria.

DOD soliciting Phase 1 proposals under Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program

The Department of Defense has released its annual solicitation for Phase 1 proposals under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program. Seven DOD components are accepting proposals. Topics for each participating DOD component are listed and numbered separately. Multiple awards are anticipated under each topic. Eligibility is limited to U.S. small businesses. NSF proposal submission for Materials World Network

The National Science Foundation's Directorate for Mathematical & Physical Sciences invites proposals for the Materials World Network: Cooperative Activity in Materials Research between U.S. Investigators and their Counterparts Abroad to enhance opportunities for collaborative activities in materials research and education. Proposals should have clear relevance to research supported by NSF Division of Materials Research. Up to 40 awards are available with individual awards up to $4.5 million. Eligibility is restricted to U.S. institutions of higher education.
