About The Martindale Center

Martindale Center Logo

The Martindale Center for the Study of Private Enterprise was established in 1980 through a generous endowment provided by Elizabeth Fairchild Martindale and Harry Turner Martindale (Lehigh '27). An interdisciplinary resource in Lehigh University's College of Business and Economics, the Martindale Center advances educational and scholarly programs to increase understanding of the U.S. economy and its relationship with the world economy.

The Martindale Center cooperates with other centers, institutes, departments, and organizations both on and off campus to sponsor programs that benefit students, faculty, alumni, and the community at large. The Center is a model of experience-based learning that exemplifies the university's educational goal of training leaders for the global society and provides insight into an interconnected global economy within an intellectually rich atmosphere.

Since its establishment, the Center has sought to provide a platform for the exploration of issues to enhance the education of Lehigh students and promote faculty research. The collaboration of students, faculty, and alumni provides for diverse forums about business and economic issues, often bringing its constituencies into close communication with internationally recognized scholars and distinguished practitioners from business, industry, and public life.

The following pages (and a current brochure) provide an overview of the Center's programs, publications, faculty, and staff.
