What Every New International Student Should Know
What if Lehigh does not have what I need?
You can get copies of articles and borrow books from anyplace in the world using ILLiad. After you activate your free ILLiad account, you request items electronically by completing the ILLiad forms.
If ASA shows that a book is in circulation or not owned by Lehigh, use the PALCI tab. PALCI is a group of academic libraries that acts like a "branch library": you request books online and have those items delivered to Fairchild/Martindale Library in a couple of days.
LVAIC (local academic) libraries are included in PALCI but you can also go to each one and browse. LVAIC libraries honor the Lehigh ID card so you can borrow the books you find.
is a "linking service" that finds electronic copies of articles in services for which Lehigh has a subscription. It also links to ILLiad and is included in many of our Electronic Resources. One of the cool things it does is fill out ILLiad forms for you. SFX's Citation Linker is useful when you find a reference in a source that isn't itself electronic.
