What Every Distance Education Student Should Know

A few words about OFF CAMPUS ACCESS

Most electronic resources the Library provides use IP authorization. Obviously, users off campus do not have a Lehigh University IP address; the solution is a "proxy" system that first asks requesters to identify themselves as Lehigh members, then passes this information along to the providing service. To make this easy for off campus users, the Library includes off campus link links in ASA (the catalog) and on many of its web pages. In MyLibrary and SFX, the proxy is embedded in the system so that no secondary login is required: another good reason to use MyLibrary!

This system means that Distance Education students can use Lehigh Library services from home or office just as if they were on the Lehigh Campus. Enjoy!
