PubMed, a powerful interface for the National Library of Medicine's database, MEDLINE, is also useful for school and counseling psychology.

NOTE:  All ED documents are in the FM Library in microfiche, FM-2-SOUTH form 1966 to present.   ERIC Documents are now accessible for Lehigh students and faculty in PDF.  Go the the EDRS Webstore to retrieve full-text of ERIC documents (ED's) from 1996 to present. Use the express search if you have the ED number; use the full search for retrieval by author, title and other search parameters.

Information on Psychological Tests and Evaluation
To find test evaluations of a particular instrument, use the Test Locator.  It indexes the Mental Measurements Yearbooks (and other test evaluation sources such as Tests Critiques) which provide critical reviews of a broad range of testing instruments.

For the actual review, consult the MMY volumes (FM-1-REF 016.159 M529).

One can also search ERIC for test evaluations.  Sometimes the test name is added to an ERIC record as an identifier or is mentioned in the abstract.

Consult the American Psychological Association's Finding Information About Psychological Tests. It is an excellelent guide to both published and unpublished tests.

See also Psychological/Educational Tests and Measurements for a comprehensive guide to test evaluation resources available at the Lehigh libraries.

Clearinghouses of Particular Interest to School or Counseling Psychology

The ERIC Clearinghouse on Adult, Career and Vocational Education "Covers all levels and settings of adult and continuing, career, and vocational/technical education."

The ERIC Clearinghouse on Assessment and Evaluation --"Seeks to provide balanced information concerning educational assessment and resources to encourage responsible test use."

The ERIC Clearinghouse on Counseling and Student Services --" Addresses preparation, practice, and supervision of counselors at all educational levels and in all settings and theoretical development of counseling and student services."

Dissertations

Often dissertations can be a rich source for research validated studies.    To search the dissertation literature, click on  Dissertations here or choose Dissertations from the A to Z list of databases on the library web page.   There you will find abstracts of dissertations. Dissertations from other institutions must be ordered from our interlibrary loan service or purchased from UMI, the publisher of Digital Dissertations and Dissertation Abstracts International.   Lehigh dissertations are fully  catalogued on ASA, Lehigh's Library Catalog.    Circulating copies are on Level 3 NORTH of the Fairchild-Martindale Library from 1989 to present; all Lehigh dissertations are available in Special Collections, Linderman Library also.   From 1997 to present Lehigh dissertations are available in digital format without cost to Lehigh users directly from UMI.
