This yearbook covers, during a calendar year, the main activities of the UN and of each related organization in the UN system. It reproduces the texts of all resolutions and substantive decisions adopted by the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic & Social Council and the Trusteeship Council.

Databases and Indexes to Periodical Literature and News Sources


Infotrac (Academic Index)
This  database indexes and abstracts a wide range of journals in the social sciences. It includes the full text and graphics of many of the articles it indexes. Coverage goes back to 1980.

Index to Legal Periodicals
 Indexes international legal information covering all areas of jurisprudence.  Our database version covers 1981 to the present. The printed index has coverage back to 1926 and can be found in the Fairchild Library,   FM-1-INDEX.

Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals.
A print subject index to selected international and comparative law periodicals and collections of essays. Subject coverage is of countries other than U.S., the British Isles and the British Commonwealth. Lehigh has indexing for 1960-1994. Located in Fairchild Library, FM-3-South  016.34 I36

PAIS: Public Affairs Information Service
PAIS indexes periodicals, books, government documents and to some degree publications of International organizations on a wide variety of public affairs topics. The database covers the years 1972 - present. Lehigh also owns the printed index back to 1923. INDEX  FM-3-SOUTH  016.3 P976.

Lexis/Nexis Academic Universe
Contains the full-text of articles in many major U.S and international newspapers. Some foreign language newspapers can also be accessed. Selected journals, magazines and newswires are also part of the product. The service is updated daily and although the coverage varies, content can go back to the 1980's.

World News Connection
Index to the FBIS translated full-text of foreign news broadcasts, newspapers and periodicals. One user liscense. Please be sure to exit the system properly or other users will have trouble. Covers past 5 years.

 Congressional Universe
     Indexing and abstracts of congressional publications from 1970 to the present.  Full-text Senate documents starting 1995  and the Congressional Record beginning in 1985. Can be used to research treaty drafting history.

 Senate, House and Treaty Documents
     Index to Senate Treaty Documents located on GPO Access. Materials are available as full-text and PDF files, from the 104th Congress to the present.  Accompanying messages from the President and the Secretary of State are included with the treaty text.

Hein's United States Treaties and Other International Agreements: Current Microfiche Service:
Microfiche - FM-2-South  Library has microfiche to TIAS : 12606. Subscription ceased in 1999.
This service provides "full-tet of current unrealeased international agreements and treaties..." arranged by "KAV" numbers.

Official U.S. Treaty Publications

 Treaties and other International Acts Series. (TIAS) 341.2 U5tr   FM-3-North
          TIAS is a series of consecutively numbered, individually paginated pamphlets containing the text of treaties in the language of the parties. TIAS is the first official publication of U.S. treaties. They appear in this pamphlet or "slip"  format and then eventually are incorporated in bound volumes of the UST.  There is  a long delay between the date of a treaty's  proclamation and publication in TIAS.

     ILM is published bi-monthly.  It provides access to current international law documents, treaties, judicial and similar proceedings and other documents. The texts are reprinted along with useful background notes. Each November issue contains an annual index and it is also indexed by PAIS.

    Contains legislative texts and treaty provisions relating to the leagal status of the UN and related intergovernmental organizations. Also contains the text of treaties on international law and decisions of administrative tribunals during the year.

Consolidated Treaty Series  (CTS).  Clive Parry, comp.

    Covering the years 1648 to 1920, this set reprints the treaty text in the language of one of the signing parties and is often accompanied by an English or French translation or summary.. There is a chronological list and party index but no subject index.

Treaties in Force.
