"On-line versions of books previously published in hard copy by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Army. The Country Studies Series presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world." While some of these books are dated ( check the title page for the date of publication) they are a good source for information on geograpy, culture, history. The library also has most of these titles in print in our collection.

- Ethnic News Watch and Research Library - Use the link to the Research library database to either do a search in the general Research Library or focus your search to the Ethnic News Watch Database (use the dropdown menu labeled "Database". Ethnic News Watch is an interdisciplinary, bilingual (English and Spanish) and comprehensive full text database of newspapers, magazines and journals from ethnic, minority and native presses. This current database begins its coverage in 1990. Research Library goes back to 1971.
- Lexis Nexis Academic Use Lexis World News to locate articles from and about particular world regions.Covers newspapers and magazines.
- Sociological Abstracts is a major database covering sociology and related fields of anthropology, ethnology, social relations etc. Use it to identify scholarly articles and papers. Use the Lehigh Links (SFX) icon to locate the full text of the articles.
EHRAF: Electronic Human Relations Area File
EHRAF Collection of Ethnology is a unique database which facilitates research and study of human culture, society and behavior. It enables cross-cultural comparative research on a growing number of cultures.At this time not all cultures are included in the database, however new cultures are added each year. Presently the North American Hmong are included in EHRAF. Use the Browse feature to review cultures represented.
