10 Things Every First Year Student Should Know
You may not always be able to get in touch directly with one of your subject librarians. To help you with your research, your librarians have provided a variety of tools to assist you with your research. One of these tools is a library tab when you log into the campus portal. This will provide you access to some of the more frequently used resources and applications from the library, such as a social media channel (facebook and twitter news feeds), database finder channel,
SFX channel and ejournals list,
ASA & Worldcat,
Refworks login, Libguides, and a list of Mobileapps. Libguides are library and research guides created by your librarians. There are guides for specific classes, subject guides for majors and contact information for each librarian. Contact a subject librarian anytime for suggestions on how to find quality sources for a research paper, honor's project, job letter, literature review, team work or presentation!
Library Guides and the Portal Library Tab encourages use of high quality sources and is an essential component in the University-wide information literacy intiative. Because it is integrated with the Campus Portal, it is located on the digital university's "campus green," along with other important student services including Banner and Blackboard.
