Librarians' choice: Specific Web sites
Objective: Send students directly to Web sites selected for their quality.
Description

The Librarians select subject-related Web resources which are cataloged in ASA and available also in Infodome. You can find Web resources in Infodome or ASA, or contact your subject librarian for help finding more good Web resources specific to your course topic.

Sample Application

Links to Web sites suggested by the librarian

Procedures

To link to a specific Web site from Infodome or ASA:

  • click to open Infodome - http://www.lehigh.edu/library/infodome/
or click to open ASA - http://asa.lib.lehigh.edu/uhtbin/webcat
  • navigate to the appropriate Web resource and open the Web site by clicking on the URL in the ASA record
  • right-click mouse on the page's URL in the Location Box and choose copy to copy it

(Note: copying the URL directly from the ASA catalog record will not work properly, instead go to the Web site itself to copy the URL)

Now you can put the URL into a BlackBoard course, or into an HTML page using Web page creation software such as Dreamweaver or Composer. To incorporate these links into BlackBoard, click here for instructions.
