Links to Electronic Books
Objective: Deliver students directly to electronic books in the library's collection.
Description

Lehigh's library owns a growing number of e-Books through a service called netLibrary. These texts are available in an electronic format which can be read online or "charged out" for exclusive use. You can find these titles in ASA and create a link to deliver your students directly to these resources from your course page.

Procedures

To link to an electronic book:

  • Go to the ASA record for the netLibrary title.
  • At the end of the ASA record, click on the URL for the e-Book.
  • After you arrive at the "book", select and right-click mouse on the URL and copy it.
Now you can put the URL into a BlackBoard course, or into an HTML page using Web page creation software such as Dreamweaver or Composer. To incorporate these links into BlackBoard, click here for instructions.
