Media Collections

Lehigh's non-print collection is located primarily in the Media Center, on the lower level of the Fairchild-Martindale Library. This collection consists largely of videocassettes and DVDs; there are also 16mm films and some audio tapes. The collection of international films formerly housed in the International Multimedia Resource Center (IMRC) has been merged with the Media Center collection. A collection of music recordings and costume slides is housed in Zoellner.

Faculty and staff may use the Video Request Form to ask for additions to the media collection, or to reserve materials for classes or other events. Materials may be held on reserve for viewing in either the IMRC or the Media Center. For additional assistance, email Elaine Kovacs at elk0@lehigh.edu or contact her at 85021.

Using ASA (Lehigh's online catalog) to find media materials in the collection

Search for videos by term/keyword:

Select the Advanced Search option from the main ASA catalog screen
On the Advanced Search form, enter a term -- in Words, Phrase, Author,etc.
Scroll down the page and select VIDEO from the Item Type pull-down menu
Click the Search Catalog button.

Search for videos by broad subject areas

Use the Browse option in Basic Search (default on main ASA catalog screen)
Enter VIDEOS and click on Subjects
Result is scrollable list arranged by broad subject area.

Searching for videos by language:

Select the Advanced Search option from the main ASA catalog screen
Scroll down the page and select VIDEO from the Item Type pull-down menu
Select a language from the Language pull-down menu
Click the Search Catalog button.

Using ASA to find music CDs

Browse a list of all music CDs cataloged for Zoellner:

Select the Advanced Search option from the main ASA catalog screen
Scroll down the page and select CD-AUDIO from the Item Type pull-down menu
Select ZOELLNER from the Location pull-down menu
Click the Search Catalog button.
