Curriculum Materials Collection

Fairchild-Martindale Library #8A     FM-1-NORTH
The Curriculum Materials Collection, located on the main floor, north wing, of the Fairchild-Martindale Library, includes curriculum material (teacher's editions, teaching guides, workbooks) and software for social studies, reading & language arts, science and mathematics at all grade levels. The collection supports coursework in the University's College of Education. Major textbook publishers are represented in the collection. A children's book collection supplements the curriculum collection and can now be found on FM-1-NORTH. The juvenile collection includes major book award winners in both fiction and non-fiction. Both the CMC and the juvenile collections are classified in Dewey, the classification scheme used at the Lehigh libraries.

The books and other materials in the curriculum materials collection may circulate for seven days.  The loan periods for juvenile books are the same as the main circulating collections.  See loan periods.

Using ASA, Lehigh's Library Catalog, to find materials in the collection

All materials in the collection are included in ASA, Lehigh's Library Catalog. To limit your search to just these materials, you'll need to use a few of the advanced searching options available in the system.

When searching ASA to find curriculum materials in a particular subject area (reading, math, etc.) select the Advanced Search Option from the main ASA catalog screen. On the Advanced Search form, enter a term in Words/Phrase. Scroll down the page and FM-1-NORTH from the Location  pull-down menu. Then click the Search Catalog button.

Using ASA, Lehigh's Library Catalog, to find children's literature
When searching ASA to find children's literature select the Advanced Search Option from the main ASA catalog screen. On the Advanced Search form, enter a search term  Words/Phrase and add "AND JUVENILE" to the end of the phrase. Scroll down the page and select FM-1-NORTH from the LOCATION pull-down menu.   Then click the Search Catalog button.
