Founded in 1865, Lehigh University is one of the top-ranked, most selective national research universities in America. The College of Education’s International Program initiatives are designed specifically to reach the global community. We offer graduate degree programs, principal certification, post baccalaureate certificates, summer professional institutes and on-line academic courses throughout the academic year.
We are continuously working hard to help our students meet their professional development needs. We know how difficult it is to balance careers and continuing education which is why we aggressively focus on new ways to teach and learn; an approach we call “Learning Beyond Limits.”
With this in mind, we have developed different options for our students to use their course credits. Credits can be used in the following ways:
- as credit towards a stand-alone professional unit.
- as credit towards the completion of the Certificate program, or
- as credit towards one the eligible Masters degree programs.
- as non credit towards professional development.
In addition to these professional development options, we also offer a doctoral program in Educational Leadership, however, credits earned towards this degree is not interchangeable with other International programs.
DEGREE PROGRAMS
International programs offer a number of graduate degrees.
- Ed.D. for Educational Leadership
- M.Ed. for Educational Leadership with Principal Certification
- M.Ed. for Global Leadership
- M.Ed. for International Counseling
POST BACCALAUREATE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
As an alternative to Degree programs, International Programs offers a variety of post baccalaureate certificate programs in Teacher Leadership; International Counseling; Special Education and TESOL. Students must complete 4 courses in order to complete a Certificate program in one of these specialized areas. These programs were designed as a shorter alternative to a Degree program. In addition, students may later apply credits earned in a Certificate program towards many of our Degree programs. Courses for certificate programs are offered at our on-site international locations during the summer, and on-line during the fall and spring semesters.
SUMMER INSTITUTES
Summer Institutes began in 2001 and have become one of the more popular ways for our students to take courses through the College of Education International Programs. Each of our International Institutes affords students the opportunity to complete courses towards a Degree program, a Certificate program, or as professional development. In addition, you will have the opportunity to network with other International students and leaders from around the world in any of the beautiful surroundings offered by each of our Institute's locations.
