Before Getting Started on your Application, please read this:
Each individual applying to a program in the College is required to collect and submit all materials themselves, and monitor that the materials arrive at the College on time to be given full consideration. Please submit all of your application materials as one complete packet.
Your degree application should consist of:
- Application Form (hard-copy or on-line)
- Application Fee of $65
- Official Transcripts (Official English Translation)
- Letters of Recommendations
- Personal Essay
- Doctoral Program Only: GRE or MAT scores
Step 1 – Determine Your Status and Fill out Application Form
The first important step is to determine whether you are applying as a Regular graduate student or as an Associate graduate student.
Once you have decided, please fill out the degree application form either on-line or print the hard copy.
Step 2 – Send Application Fee
The application fee of $65 is non-refundable and applications will not be considered until this fee is received. Please make the check or money order (must be from a US affiliated bank) payable to Lehigh University or call (610) 758-3231 to pay by credit card (VISA, Master Card, or American Express.)
Step 3 – Request Transcripts
Applicants should request that the Registrar of each college or university attended provide an official transcript. This should be included with the application.
Most U.S. universities allow students to request transcripts online from their web sites. Using the web site is usually a faster way of requesting official transcripts. For work in progress, a final transcript must be submitted by the end of the term. If institutional policies require submission of official transcripts directly to Lehigh University, they should be sent to the College of Education.
Foreign Transcripts
Transcripts from a foreign institution MUST be evaluated for equivalency before being sent to Lehigh University. Credential evaluation means converting foreign academic credentials into their U.S. educational equivalents. By converting your educational qualifications into their U.S. equivalents, the evaluation allows academic institutions or employers in the U.S. to understand them. Lehigh University does not promote these services; we inform you of their existence. Please request that these services mail you a course-by-course evaluation converted to U.S. credits and grades.
Step 4 - Request and Receive Letters of Recommendations
All programs require letters of recommendations before you can be accepted as a Regular graduate student. A recommendation form is provide for your use and can be copied if needed. Contact two individuals to evaluate your academic achievements and potential for graduate studies. Recommendations may come from faculty members and employers, preferably supervisors. Individuals submitting recommendations are asked to return their letters directly to the applicant. Instructions are provided on the form. Several programs require at least one academic recommendation.
Step 5 – Write a Personal Essay
Some programs require applicants to provide a short personal essay, outlining career objectives and work experience. Please submit a typed essay with your application.
