David Angstadt, PhD. David Angstadt joined Lehigh as a Professor of Practice in Mechanical Engineering in January 2008 after four years as an Assistant Professor at Clemson University in South Carolina. Dr. Angstadt received his Ph.D. from Lehigh in 2004 and his professional background includes 11 years of industry experience in textile and chemical manufacturing. His current area of expertise is in polymer processing, specifically injection molding. He has taught courses in Statics, Dynamics, Kinematics, Strength of Materials and Manufacturing Processes at both Clemson and Lehigh.

Terry J. Hart, Professor of Practice, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics.  Professor Hart received his Doctor of Engineering (Honorary) and his B.S., Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and holds a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT as well as a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University. A member of the eleventh crew for the Space Shuttle Challenger, which tested and successfully demonstrated new capabilities in manned space flight. Professor Hart is the Co-Director of Integrated Degree in Engineering, Arts and Sciences Program and holds two U.S. patents.

Wesley Heiss, Professor of Practice, Department of Design Arts . Professor Heiss teaches Product Design, 3D Modeling, Ergonomics and IPD. He received his MA in Architecture from Rice University and his BA in Architecture/Ceramics from Bennington College. Wes has received numerous grant awards for his installations. Professor Heiss taught Architecture and Product Design at Rice University and his work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in New York, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Portland.

Lori Herz Ph.D. , Professor of Practice in Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering. Professor Herz joined Lehigh in 2008.   She received her Ph.D. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Rutgers University and her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.  Professor Herz worked in the pharmaceutical industry for eight years where she gained expertise in sterile drug product manufacture, technology transfer, and regulatory compliance, as well as process development. Past research interests include cell culture and metabolic engineering.

Charles Lyman Ph.D. Professor of Materials Science , Dr. Lyman received his BS from Cornell and his PhD from MIT, both in materials science. After a post-doctoral position at the University of Oxford, he held faculty and research positions at RPI and DuPont, respectively.  Dr. Lyman joined the Electron Microscopy Laboratory of Lehigh University in 1984. Dr. Lyman’s research interests include electron microscopy and microanalysis of metals, ceramics, and heterogeneous catalysts. He and his students developed the composition-size diagram as a means for correlating the microstructure and activity of supported bimetallic catalysts.  He continues to develop methods of tailoring the surface composition of bimetallic nanoparticles to obtain improved catalytic properties.

Herman F. Nied Ph.D. Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics at Lehigh University since 1995.  Professor Nied received both a Ph.D. and M.S. in Applied Mechanics from Lehigh University as well as a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester. His active areas of research include polymer processing, fracture mechanics, electronic packaging and welding with development of advanced numerical methods emphasizing specialized finite element codes for processing simulation and 3-D fracture analysis. Professor Nied is a liability expert witness, a technical consultant for more than ten companies and holds eleven U.S. and three European patents.

Brian Slocum, Managing Director, Design Labs, manages the Wilbur Powerhouse Prototyping Lab as well as the Chandler-Ullmann Wood Shop. In addition Brian teaches courses in metalworking and prototyping and serves as an advisor to IPD teams. Returning to Lehigh (his alma mater) after completing the MFA Design program at North Carolina School of the Arts, Brian has worked both in the Theatre Department and in the Design Arts Program. In addition to his work at the university, Brian most recently, co-founded Isosceles Design Studio, LLC. ' a Design Firm specializing in custom furniture and architectural and interior design.

Todd Watkins, PhD, Professor of Economics, is one of the founders of the IPD program and Co-Chair for the Entrepreneurship Initiative. Director of the Institute for the Study of Regional Political Economy. He holds Ph.D. and M.P.P. degrees from Harvard University, and a B.S. from the University of Rochester. Teaching areas encompass the role of technology and innovation in trade & economic growth; as well as managerial economics; technical entrepreneurship and new product development. He co-founded Lehigh's Community Research and Policy Service (Lehigh CORPS) and was a national winner of the ASME Curriculum Innovation Award. Watkins also won the 2002 Outstanding Instructor award from the National Technology University, for his teaching via distance learning.
