About IPD: Structure

The IPD program is structured to support a wide range of experiences for students from pre-college to graduate as shown in the adjacent figure.

We support Pre College programs including high school curriculum development, summer programs and teaming with local middle schools on joint projects.

The IPD program supports curriculum develop including Freshman Projects and specific courses in engineering, business and design arts.

Our primary focus is on the capstone project course engaging students from across all three undergraduate colleges. Each given academic year in over 300 students work in teams to develop new products or engage in process improvement projects.

At the graduate level we offer similar courses with a product development or process improvement focus and geographically dispersed teams.
