About IPD: Process - Overview 3
Most IPD teams follow the process as described in the book "Product Design and Development," by Eppinger and Ulrich (reproduced here with permission). The figure above is a modified version of the process as described in the text. This stage gate approach with multiple feedback loops is used for both new product development projects or process improvement projects and is appropriate when working with new start ups or established companies.
