Research
Interests:
Clinical
chemistry focused on immunoassay development, both new strategies
and application to new analytes or analytes at lower detection levels;
applications to oral fluids, drugs of abuse; high sensitivity glutathione
assays.
Teaching
Interests:
Organic
chemistry, enzyme mechanisms, clinical chemistry, introductory chemistry.
Have two research grants in chemistry education, one on the effects
of workshop chemistry lead by in-class peer leaders in introductory
organic, and one focused on the success of intervention at the high
school level by graduate and undergraduate chemistry students on
the understanding of and attitudes toward chemistry by high school
students.
