REU 2007 Participants in Lehigh University
PURPOSE: The purpose of the REU in Glass summer program is to introduce US undergraduate students to the opportunities in glass research through active involvement at a world class glass research facility, either in the US or abroad.
WHEN: May 27, 2008 - August 1, 2008 (10 weeks)
WHERE: Lehigh University, 7 Asa Drive, Bethlehem, PA 18015 or Penn State University,
University Park PA 16802
Several international REU placements are also available and such preference should be noted on the application form.
STIPEND: $445 per week and participants will be sharing housing with the Physics REU students
DEADLINE: March 3, 2008. All materials must be received by this date.
Early selections will begin in February throough early April.

ELIGIBILITY: Funding for this program comes from the National Science Foundation, which has set the following requirements: (1) Applicant must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents; (2) Applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and majoring in science and engineering; (3) A minimum GPA of 3.5 is recommended; (4) Laboratory, computer and other related experience will certainly be considered. Participants will be selected on the basis of academic merits, faculty reference(s) and suitability to the hosting program. Women, minorities and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
