Scanning documents with Kurzweil 3000
START KURZWEIL 3000
- Turn on computer.
- On the desktop, double-click Kurzweil 3000.

- The Kurzweil opening screen will display.
SCAN A SINGLE PAGE
1. Place materials face down on scanner or in the document feeder.
2. Click Scan on the toolbar. After warming up, the scanner will scan the page and you will see it display on the screen.
SCAN MULTIPLE PAGES
- Put additional page(s) in scanner document feeder.
- Click Scan on toolbar.
- Once finished scanning additional pages, click Up or Down Arrow next to the Page edit box to view and read first page or click First Page button.
SCAN SIDEWAYS
For small books you can scan two pages at a time (sideways):
- Click Tools on Menu Bar.

Click Options in menu.
- Click Scanning tab.
- Set Page Orientation to Auto-Rotate (see below the red circle labelled 1 below).
- Click OK.

OTHER SCAN OPTIONS
In the screen above, note that it is possible to do one of the following:
- In the area labelled 2 (circled in red) you can darken or lighten your scans by decreasing or increasing brightness.
- In the area labelled 3 (circled in red) you can despeckle scans (see checkbox on lower right corner).
- In the area labelled 4 (circled in red) you can set a scan delay (increase or decrease time between scans).
