Undergraduate engineering students at Lehigh University interested in pursuing faculty-led research projects over the summer may qualify for the Lehigh Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
Through this program, the Lehigh Engineering Dean's Office will provide each accepted student $450 per week for 10 weeks over the Summer. To qualify for this fellowship, the student's faculty research sponsors must be supporting other undergraduate researchers over the summer through externally-funded programs such as the NSF's Research Experience for Undergraduates Fellowship, or competitively funded internal grants such as Lehigh's Faculty innovation Grant (FIG), Collaborative Research Opportunity (CORE) Grants, and Biosystems Dynamics Summer Institute (BDSI) program. Student support from the Lehigh Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship will occur on a one for one match basis. For example, a faculty member supporting two NSF REU students in the summer could fund up to two additional Lehigh Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships.
Faculty research sponsors interested in pursuing this opportunity with and undergraduate researcher must submit the following to Brianne Lisk in the Lehigh Engineering Dean's Office by March 1, 2014:
