Lehigh Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship

If you are an undergraduate student in engineering interested in continuing your work on a faculty-led research project over the summer, check with your faculty sponsor to see if your lab qualifies for the Lehigh Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship.

Through this program, the Lehigh Engineering Dean's Office will provide each accepted student $450 per week for 10 weeks over the Summer. However, faculty research sponsors must be supporting other undergraduate researchers over the summer through externally-funded programs such as the NSF's Research Experience for Undergraduates Fellowship. Student support from the Lehigh Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship will occur on a one for one match basis.

If your faculty research sponsor is interested in pursuing this opportunity with you, they must submit the following to Brianne Lisk in the Lehigh Engineering Dean's Office by March 1, 2014:

  1. A letter that nominates you for the Fellowship
  2. A list of other undergraduates participating in summer research and supported via externally-funded programs, including the source of funding for each student.
Students funded through the Lehigh Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship are also expected to participate in the David & Lorraine Freed Undergraduate Research Symposium.
