Profile

Dr. Kazakia's research interests consist of analytical/numerical investigation and modeling of various fluid mechanics phenomena. Several tools of applied mathematics are employed in his research, such as harmonics analysis, perturbation analysis, linear algebra, orthogonal transformations, fast Fourier transforms, advanced root finding techniques, implicit and ADI methods of solving partial differential equations, as well as computational fluid dynamics. The body of his research can be summarized as follows:

Kazakia teaches courses in applied numerical analysis, mechanics courses such as statics, dynamics, and strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and engineering computations. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Academy of Mechanics, and the American Association of University Professors, and has received several teaching excellence awards from Lehigh.
