Project Sites: School Districts

Specific sites selected for this project are sites with well-established RtI models that have been in place for at least one year prior to their selection as a site for this project. Only those sites in areas designated as urban / rural or those containing substantial cultural or linguistic diversity will be used for this project.

The sites are strong supporters of Lehigh University commitment to train school psychologists who have the needed skills and competencies to facilitate effective models of RtI service delivery. They include:

  • Upper Darby School District is a culturally and linguistically diverse district located adjacent to the City of Philadelphia.  The district consists of approximately 13,000 students, with 36.3% receiving free or reduced lunch, with 57.0% of students as African-American or Hispanic. Located approximately 1 to 1.5 hours from the Lehigh Valley.

  • Abington School District is located adjacent to the City of Philadelphia.  The district of 7,411 students consists of 27% students identified as from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds.  Within the targeted elementary school for the project, a total of 43% of students are identified as African-American with 32% on free or reduced lunch. Located approximately 1 to 1.5 hours from the Lehigh Valley.

  • Central Dauphin School District is a diverse district located adjacent to the City of Harrisburg.  The district consists of approximately 11,000 students, with 46.2% receiving free or reduced lunch and 49.0% of students as African-American/Black or Hispanic within the schools targeted as potential sites for the project. Located approximately 1 to 1.5 hours from the Lehigh Valley.

  • Cornwall-Lebanon School District is located in a rural section of east/central Pennsylvania near the town of Lebanon, PA.  The district consists of approximately 2,000 students, with 40.3% of students receiving free or reduced lunch in the schools targeted for the project.
