Welcome to the College of Education at Lehigh University. We hope that you find the information that you need to make a decision to join us and begin an exciting vocation in education and human services.

Lehigh's College of Education is a top ranked school offering doctoral and masters degree programs and certification. Our faculty members are recognized in their fields and are known nationally and internationally for their cutting-edge research, scholarly pursuits, and productive partnerships with leadership in the education sector. In
addition, the faculty is engaged in a wide array of research projects
and this provides students with opportunities to work closely with a mentor in a cutting-edge area of scholarship.

The College is made up of one Department of Education and Human Services comprising the following 6 academic program areas:

  • Comparative and International Education (CIE): Prepares graduates to work in and with schools – both in the U.S. and internationally – as agents of change in classrooms, schools, and educational systems as a whole.
  • Counseling Psychology (CPSY): Provides students with a thorough background in human behavior and in the counselor's role in contemporary American society, as well as fundamental counseling and intervention skills.
  • Educational Leadership (EDL): Develops and supports effective leaders for high-quality elementary/secondary education.
  • School Psychology (SPSY): Explores the many exciting opportunities in the field of school psychology.
  • Special Education (SPED): Prepares highly qualified special educators who are both skilled practitioners and/or researchers and also leaders in establishing effective teaching and learning environments for individuals with disabilities.
  • Teaching, Learning, and Technology (TLT): Trains reflective teachers and instructional technologists through the integration of theory, practice, and technology in diverse instructional settings. Instructional Technology - M.S. degree in Instructional Technology and Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and Technology aimed at those interested in facilitating implementation of technology in educational settings and the systematic design, planning, and use of technology, particularly in K-16 settings. Elementary and Secondary Education - M.Ed. and M.A. degrees plus PA Certification. Those interested in becoming a general education teacher can begin education coursework while pursuing their Lehigh bachelor's degree or start later as part of a post-bachelor's program.  We also offer a post-certification master’s program for current teachers wishing to improve their skills.

The classes that you will take during your degree program use the latest methodologies in teaching and learning and so you are assured the best educational experience to prepare you for a rewarding career.
