Dr. White is Professor and Coordinator of the Educational Leadership program and the Director of the Center for Developing Urban Educational Leaders (CDUEL) at Lehigh.  While at Lehigh, Dr. White has been responsible for establishing a specialized program to train individuals for leadership roles in urban school districts receiving over $5M in grants from the U.S. Department of Education to support these initiatives. He was also instrumental in developing the International School Leadership program.  This program utilizes web-based and video conferencing learning experiences with face-to-face interaction to prepare individuals for leadership roles in international schools.  He has recently coordinated the development of a series of Leadership Academies designed to prepare and mentor in-service principals and teacher leaders. 

Dr. White is the co-founder and curriculum advisor of the Governor School for Global Entrepreneurship, a Pennsylvania Department of Education funded project that provides a five-week summer residential experience to high school juniors and seniors from PA and countries from around the world.  This program teaches the skills and knowledge associated with successful entrepreneur in a global environment.  White also directs the Lehigh University Middle Level Partnership a venture designed to assist schools in improving the education of pre-adolescent students a venture designed to assist schools in improving the education of pre-adolescent students and has served as chair of the Research Committee of the National Middle School Association.  He is a nationally recognized consultant, having worked with over 100 schools nationally and internationally in addressing the issues associated with organizational development and change and on topics relating to middle level education.  He has published numerous articles on these topics and has authored a book that deals with the issue of implementing community service into the school curriculum.  White earned a doctorate in general administrative leadership from the Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Northern Colorado and a bachelor’s degree in science education from West Chester University.  Prior to joining the faculty at Lehigh Dr. White served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Central Bucks School District and has worked as a middle school principal, team leader and science teacher in Pennsylvania, Colorado and New Jersey. 

Dr. White is a Class of ‘61 Endowed Professor at Lehigh University and has received the Lehigh University Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching the University Hillman Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Advising, and the University Hillman Award for Distinguished Teaching, Scholarship and Service.
