Central
Dauphin School District
The brief training started
out with an introduction of what general outcome measures are
and why are they important. Next, Nate, Karen, Deb Fulton, and
I modeled the teaming process using sample data. During the guided
practice portion of the training, grade level teams moved efficiently
through the data teaming process. Most were able to brainstorm
ideas for increasing classwide reading performance and establish
goals for the next benchmark period. It was exciting to see teachers
making data-based decisions.
Although not initially part of the project, we were invited to
assess the incoming kindergartners using the Individual Growth
Development Indicators (IGDIs). Each of the participating schools
established a booth for us at their preschool registration. The
opportunity allowed us to inform parents about the project, meet
the incoming kindergartners, and gather baseline data for these
students.
See you next month!
