All full-time teachers and education specialists at Lehigh’s College of Education IPDS schools.
A tuition scholarship that equals the difference between Lehigh’s College of Education tuition rate and the state/school district reimbursement rate for up to two graduate courses during the 12 months beginning with the start of classes in fall and the end of classes in the following summer.
DO I NEED TO BE ADMITTED?
In order to take courses in the College of Education at Lehigh, a full-time teacher or educational specialist at an IPDS school must be admitted either as a non-degree student or as a student pursuing a graduate degree. Thus, to take advantage of this program, IPDS teachers and educational specialists must meet the admissions criteria for the College of Education at Lehigh (see http://www.lehigh.edu/education/admissions/adm.html).
If a full-time teacher or educational specialist has not yet been admitted as a non-degree student or as a student pursuing a degree in the College of Education at Lehigh, he or she must apply either to become a non-degree student or be admitted to a degree program. Under the IPDS Tuition Scholarship, Lehigh agrees to waive the $65 application fee.
To apply to the College of Education, please visit our admissions page and either apply as a non-degree student or a degree-seeking student. A complete and detailed set of instructions come with both. We highly encourage you to apply on-line.
WHICH COURSES CAN I TAKE?
Please visit our course listings page in order to view our selection of classes that are offered in the semester in which you plan to enroll. If you enroll as a non-degree student you are limited to which classes you may take. These are noted in the non-degree course listing, found here.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO RECEIVE THE SCHOLARSHIP?
In order to receive the scholarship, you register for one or two courses and then send an email to Rob Messner (ROM304@lehigh.edu) providing the following information:
- Your full name
- Your job title
- Name of the school where you are employed
- Number and title of course(s) for which you have registered
The subject heading for this email should be “Request for IPDS Tuition Scholarship.” Please copy yourself and Ward Cates (ward.cates@lehigh.edu) on this email. You should send this email as soon after enrolling as possible in order to assure that tuition bills from the bursar’s office at Lehigh reflect the application of the IPDS Tuition Scholarship.
