Welcome to our Partnership!
The College of Education at Lehigh University and Bethlehem Area School District have joined in an Integrated Professional Development School Partnership (IPDS) focused on enhancing student outcomes. Our partnership does this by addressing four areas:
- Developing an exemplary curriculum
- Preparing new education professionals
- Developing existing educational professionals
- Working together on research and inquiry into complex problems of practice
This partnership is integrated because it involves faculty from all programs in the College of Education, not just teacher preparation. Interns from general education, special education, school psychology, and counseling psychology have all completed internships and/or field experiences in our partner school, Farmersville Elementary School. Teachers from Farmersville regularly are guest speakers in our courses at Lehigh.
Other colleges and programs from across Lehigh University, as well as the Lehigh community, are also welcome to become involved. Currently, a science outreach program from the College of Arts and Sciences and the C.O.A.C.H. program in the Athletics department have participated in the partnership.
The IPDS Policy Committee governs the partnership. This group consists of representatives from programs in the following:
