Scholarships, fellowships and graduate assistantships are available to qualified students throughout the University, College of Education, and the Educational Leadership Program. These opportunities are almost entirely for full- time students only.

Individuals interested in seeking scholarships or fellowships should submit the financial aid supplement as part of their application.

Individuals interested in graduate assistantships should contact the program chair; these Educational Leadership assistantships are for various research projects and training opportunities, often in cosponsorship with various partner organizations.


ACADEMIC AWARDS
Applications for fellowships, scholarships, research, or graduate assistantships to begin in the fall term must be submitted with a completed application package. Fellowship holders also receive a tuition award plus a stipend. Scholarship recipients are awarded tuition. Research or graduate assistants generally receive a tuition award and may receive a stipend. The following are opportunities to explore:

THOMAS / BRUCKER ENDOWED MINORITY DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Thomas/Brucker Endowed Minority Doctoral Scholarship is awarded to a doctoral student accepted into one of the six programs in the College of Education at Lehigh University. The scholarship was established from the Harold P. Thomas endowment for doctoral students and the Jane K. Brucker endowment for students with low financial means. The award is presented annually and includes a 10 month stipend and tuition remission for up to 24 credits. Students may reapply for the award up to a maximum of three years.

The applicant must have exhibited academic excellence in his or her undergraduate degree, have a minority or international background and participated in educational experiences that showcase high levels of achievement. Special consideration will be given to individuals from diverse backgrounds that have had experience working overseas or in low socioeconomic environments. Students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average per semester to retain the benefits of the scholarship.  

All materials should be submitted to the Program Coordinator and then one nomination (with the materials described below) from each of the six programs is sent to the Dean, College of Education at Lehigh University for consideration. The application should include the following:

  1. A letter highlighting academic achievements and international and/or minority status.
  2. A current resume.
  3. A copy of all transcripts including undergraduate and graduate degrees.
  4. Two letters of recommendation.
  5. Deadline for submission is May 2, 2008. Students will be notified by mail no later than May 23, 2008.
