DIRECTOR:
Dr. Shapiro is Iacocca Professor of Education and Professor of
School Psychology at Lehigh University. In 1987, Dr. Shapiro received
the Lightner Witmer Award from APA’s Division of School Psychology,
in recognition for early career contributions to school psychology. And it's that same approach that set him on the path to the 2006 Senior Scientist Award. He was Editor of School Psychology Review, an author or co-author of several books including, Academic Skills Problems: Direct assessment and intervention (third edition), Academic Skills Problems Workbook (revised edition), and Conducting School-Based Assessments of Child and Adolescent Behavior all published with Guilford. He is known best for his work in curriculum-based assessment, academic and behavioral interventions, and pediatric school psychology. Additionally, Dr. Shapiro is the Executive Director of Lehigh Transition
and Assessment Services which provides training in the school-to-work
transition for secondary age students and young adults with disabilities.
