"The theoretical persepctives, training, and research in Counseling Psychology are very well suited for work in Post-disaster recovery. CP's emphasis on the normal spectrum human behavior and adaptation (e.g., work school, family), diversity and multicultural issues, social justice and social ecology, and empirically supported intervention are very appropriate background not only for traditional counseling services, but also for preventative and educative efforts at the community level to strengthen recovery following crises and disasters.""

College Home > Counseling Psychology > College of Education Professional Development Association (CEPDA)

The Association focuses on promoting, firstly, professional development among the College of Education and secondly, philanthropy within the local community.

Our first goal will be accomplished through activities such as:

  • Arranging for guest speakers
  • Attending Conferences and Workshops
  • Learning more about available research opportunities

Our second goal will be achieved through various activities such as:

  • Volunteering
  • Fundraising
  • Clothing Drives

We started out very small, but we intend on expanding membership significantly in the semesters to come. Anyone who is a student in the College of Education is invited to expand their professional development by joining CEPDA. We have many fun and informative events scheduled over the next few months, and there will be more to come!
