ARTICLE I. NAME
The name of this organization shall be the College of Education Professional Development Association (CEPDA).
ARTICLE II. PURPOSE
The College of Education Professional Development Society is an organization whose purpose is to promote professional development among students of the College of Education and philanthropy with in the local community.
Our first goal is to promote professional development within the College of Education. We will promote professional development through activities such as:
- Arranging for guest speakers
- Attending Conferences and Workshops
- Learning more about available research opportunities
Our second goal is to contribute to the community through various activities for example: volunteer work as well as fundraising, and clothing drives.
ARTICLE III. POLICY
Students will be actively involved in the association by participating in volunteer work and arranging career development activities.
ARTICLE IV. MEMBERSHIP
SECTION ONE. Membership in this organization shall be open to all students of the College of Education.
Students must be in good standing with the University and a member must subscribe to the ideas and policies of the club university.
(A graduate student club shall be defined as any student organization with an active membership of at least 15% graduate students. Its leadership shall also consist of at least 15% graduate students with the Treasurer being a graduate student.)
ARTICLE V. OFFICERS
SECTION ONE. Officers consist of:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Committee Chairs
- Coordinators
SECTION TWO.
1. President will preside over all meetings, conduct all official organizational business.
2. Vice President also presides at meetings and conducts all official organizational business when the President assigns him/her to do so, or in the President's absence.
3. Secretary will keep official minutes and records, and is required to distribute and process communications among members.
4. Treasurer is responsible for keeping accurate records of all financial matters and collecting dues.
5. Committee Chairs are to preside over committee meetings and represent committees in general meetings.
6. Coordinators meet coordinator responsibilities and provide feedback at general meetings.
ARTICLE VI. MEETINGS
SECTION ONE. A regularly scheduled general meeting will be held at least twice a month.
SECTION TWO. A quorum will consist of (25% to 50%) of the regular members.
ARTICLE VII. COMMITTEES
Chairpersons for committees shall be appointed by the (President and/or Vice President). The Chairperson will select other members (from among volunteering).
ARTICLE VIII. FINANCES
No dues will be required.
ARTICLE III. PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY
The Parliamentary Authority shall be the revised edition of Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised.
ARTICLE X. AMENDMENTS TO CONSTITUTION
SECTION ONE. All amendments require previous notice of one meeting prior to discussion and voting.
SECTION TWO. All amendments require 2/3 vote of those present for its adoption.
SECTION THREE. All amendments must be communicated to the Graduate Student Council.
