"The theoretical persepctives, training, and research in Counseling Psychology are very well suited for work in Post-disaster recovery. CP's emphasis on the normal spectrum human behavior and adaptation (e.g., work school, family), diversity and multicultural issues, social justice and social ecology, and empirically supported intervention are very appropriate background not only for traditional counseling services, but also for preventative and educative efforts at the community level to strengthen recovery following crises and disasters.""
