“The academic and clinical experiences provided by the CP training program have made a significant impact on my personal and professional development. Throughout my matriculation, my competence in psychotherapy, assessment, supervision, and ethics has grown tremendously. In addition, the emphasis on multicultural competence and social justice provides the opportunity for me to make significant contributions to my local communities and beyond.” -Terrina Price

Counseling Programs at Lehigh University provide students with a thorough background in human behavior and in the counselor's role in contemporary American society, as well as fundamental counseling and intervention skills.

Three major tenets underlie all counseling programs:

  • The program is essentially educative / preventive / developmental in nature.
  • Counselors must work in an increasingly diverse cultural environment.
  • School counselors must understand and be prepared to adapt to changing societal conditions and the demands placed upon communities and school systems.
