Community Choices

Community Choices provides community-based day services for adults with developmental and behavioral disabilities. Community inclusion and positive behavior support are emphasized. The program promotes independence, facilitates skill development, and enhances quality of life by providing meaningful activities in the community for the individuals served.

Affiliated with Lehigh's College of Education, a central mission is the training of graduate students in the use of best practice strategies for individuals with special needs. Examples of emperically-based assessment and intervention strategies include:

  • Functional skills training
  • Community-based instruction
  • Functional communication training
  • Functional behavior assessment
  • Positive behavior support strategies
  • Task analysis and systematic instruction
  • Data-based decision-making
