The Center for Developing Urban Educational Leaders (CDUEL) seeks a highly qualified and motivated candidate for a new position in our College’s Educational Leadership faculty—CDUEL Professor of Practice.  This position is for a three-year nontenure-track term, which may be renewable. 

The incumbent will work with the CDUEL director, Professor George White, not only to implement the ongoing programs, such as the Philadelphia High School Leadership Project, a community school program at a Bethlehem middle school, and the Urban Principal in Residence program, but also to develop new projects in line with CDUEL’s mission.

The requirements are:

  • Extensive, including recent, successful experience as a school administrator in one or more urban settings
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement preparation and professional development programs for urban school leaders
  • Evidence of expertise to teach at least two of the following subjects in relation to urban school leadership: the principalship, turnaround leadership, supervision and professional development, change management, and data-based decision making
  • A proven record of responsiveness to issues of diversity and social justice

A doctorate in educational leadership is strongly preferred but not required, depending on the candidate’s other qualifications.
