National Parent-Child Home Program
PCHP logo Project CARES is partnering with theNational Center for the Parent-Child Home (PCHP) and the Early Childhood Office in the School District of Philadelphia, PA to examine how the Philadelphia PCHP program enables children to gain literacy and language skills that prepare them for school.
PCHP is a nation-wide program that provides early literacy and language enrichment to low-income families with young children. Prepared to be "Home Visitors," familiar community members work with both parent and child in presenting books and toys that help the children become familiar with critical literacy skills and reading habits. Furthermore, the program enhances the bond between parent and child as well as getting the child ready for school.

Keep checking the Project CARES website for updates on the Philadelphia PCHP evaluation!
