The College of Education currently has the following major resources for research and training in addition to our programs:
Centennial School
Centennial School of Lehigh University's College of Education pursues two principal missions: serving children and youth with educational disabilities, and preparing high quality teachers to enter the workforce of special education. The school provides research opportunities as well as practical experience for advanced students in the Counseling Psychology, Educational Leadership, School Psychology, and Special Education programs
The Center for Promoting Research to Practice (CPRP):
Schools, Families, Communities
The Center for Promoting Research to Practice is where faculty and students generate new knowledge, demonstrate successful application of this knowledge to real life settings, and then disseminate practical information to school, family, and community partners.
The Center for Developing Urban Educational Leaders (CDUEL)
The Center for Developing Urban Educational Leaders cultivates educational leadership in urban communities by conducting research, developing competencies, and improving leadership practice which enhances student learning and development.
Integrated Professional Development Schools (IPDS)
The College of Education at Lehigh University and Bethlehem Area School District have joined in an Integrated Professional Development School Partnership (IPDS) focused on enhancing student outcomes. This partnership is integrated because it involves faculty from all programs in the College of Education, not just teacher preparation. Interns from general education, special education, school psychology, and counseling psychology have all completed internships and/or field experiences in our partner school, Farmersville Elementary School.
Community Supports
Community Supports for People with Developmental Disabilities offers the following three programs focused on community inclusion and improving the quality of life of individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
Community Choices
Lehigh Support for Community Living
Transition and Assessment
Each program provides direct support services to individuals with developmental disabilities while generating, implementing and evaluating innovative practices. Additionally, staffed by graduate students in the College of Education, each program provides extensive training and professional development opportunities for young professionals.
Office of International Programs (OIP)
